about

Year of '51, the first single from Dandelion's debut album 'Everest' (2016).

lyrics

The meat in a gorged hawk is like the fear of the lonesome poet to die alone

He made promises from phone booth towns and oh what more
And when he got home he listened those all back

But don’t you go and ask him what went wrong

The year of that rain-stained girl who promised him her or the world

He chose the worst but what is a man to do?
He took her in and gave her meat to chew

But don’t you go and ask him what went wrong in the year of ’51

Apparently there’s nothing I can do
Because as long as that willow grows
And the dark swallows him whole
Nothing’s wrong with a gray haired star-eyed rambler
Picking girls from the street only to marry them later

Now everything is all messed up, the ink stains the words from his loving cup

A poet’s heart is now a lover’s den
In which it dies and is failing to pretend

But don’t you go and ask him what went wrong in the year of 1951
